Description Castle Hill United Reformed Church was built in 1695, and is the earliest surviving nonconformist chapel in Northampton. The eminent preacher Dr Philip Doddridge ministered there from 1729 until his death in 1751.

The eminent preacher Dr Philip Doddridge ministered there from 1729 until his death in 1751. The original building is made of stone from the ruins of Northampton castle and contains box pews, artefacts and Doddridge’s original office, complete with his desk and clock.
