If you like sport, no town in the United Kingdom can rival Northampton for variety and quality.

The town is at the heart of motorsport valley, with businesses and venues geared up to delivering fast cars and thrilling action.

Silverstone circuit, the home of the British Grand Prix in July, is a short drive from Northampton along the A43
while Brafield stadium (stock cars), Santa Pod (drag racing) and Rockingham Speedway (oval racing) are all also within easy reach.

Staying with the racing theme, Towcester Racecourse offers horse racing and greyhound racing throughout the year.

And Northampton boasts three mainstream sports clubs playing at the top of their game.

Northampton RFC, known as the Saints, are one of the country’s top rugby union sides and have won the European Cup and the English Premiership in recent seasons.

Northamptonshire CCC, known as the Steelbacks in the limited-over game, have won the Twenty20 trophy twice in the last four seasons.

And Northampton Town FC, known as the Cobblers, play in English football’s fourth tier.

On rare occasions, you can visit Franklin’s Gardens, Wantage Road and Sixfields on different days over a weekend in April, May or September and see all three teams in action.

No other town can rival this – cities that have the same sporting offer are London, Leicester and Manchester.
