Come and join this year’s family-friendly Diwali celebrations as we light up the town centre on Saturday, 14 October.
Organised by Northampton Indian Welfare Organisation and supported by the Borough Council, this year’s celebrations will take place on the Market Square and will include food and information stalls, fun activities, entertainment and the annual lantern procession.
A run down of the event is as follows:
10am: Food stalls and family friendly activities such as henna painting and sari dressing open!
1pm: Stage entertainment begins with Irish dancing and musci from Inspiration FM
4.30pm: Dignataries officially open the celebrations and launch the week of national Hate Crime Awareness activity
6pm: The annual lantern parade starts out from All Saints Church
7pm: bhangra dancing and music on the Market Square
8.30pm: event closes
